FTC Issues Refunds for False “Made in USA” Claims

A motocross and ATV parts manufacturer deceptively advertised imported products.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is issuing over $180,000 in refunds to consumers affected by misleading claims by a motocross and ATV parts manufacturer that products were made in America.

Despite claims of being “Proudly designed, developed, and manufactured in Lexington, North Carolina,“ the FTC found that Cycra imported parts from Asia and Europe already labeled “Made in USA.“ The agency stated, “On its website, social media, and in product packaging, Cycra, from 2019 until at least May 2022, deceptively claimed  that its products were made in the United States.“

The FTC is distributing payments to 889 consumers. Consumers with questions are urged to contact the refund administrator or visit the FTC website for more information.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Chair Lina Khan to be discerning as she heads the Federal Trade Commission.
  • For members of the FTC as they evaluate trade and commerce practices and seek to enforce federal regulations.
